Heather Watson into the final of Hobart International

Heather Watson has booked her spot in the final of the ongoing Hobart International after defeating American eighth seed Alison Riske in the semi-finals.

The world number 49 continued her fantastic preparation for next week’s Australian Open; securing a 6-3, 7-5 victory over her American counterpart. This puts Heather just one step away from clinching her second ever title.

That being said, she will have to deal with the one final hurdle in the form of Madison Brengle, who completed a hard fought victory over Kurumi Nara in the semis earlier today.

Despite winning the first set 6-4, Madison was ripped apart by Kurumi in the second set, with the Japanese claiming it 6-1. But the 24 year-old American held on and performed admirably in the decider, winning 6-3 to book her spot in the final.
