The Malaysian Amateur Boxing Association (MABF) has drafted nine boxers into their squad for the upcoming SEA Games, which will be held in June.
According to Bernama, MABF’s Honorary Secretary, Mohamed Jani Ismail revealed that they will be having a meeting with the National Sports Council to present the names of those boxers and discuss their preparations for the SEA Games as well as other upcoming tournaments.
In the men’s category, the individuals that will be making the SEA Games squad include Mohd Fuad Mohd Reduan, Mohd Azwan Mohd Nor, Argiqanie Ahmad Anshori, Muhamad Al-Nazirul Osman, Khir Akyazlan Azmi and Rudy Petrus.
This year, MABF will also be sending 3 individuals to compete in the women’s category including Lee Ai Jim, Nor Azirina Lim and Ainul Madiyatul Hazizah Habibi.
“We are not expecting much from the women’s category. However, looking at their preparations ahead of the SEA games, they do have the potential to surprise during the competition,” Mohammad Jani told Bernama.
