Ballon d’Or: Full List of Award Winners

Cristiano Ronaldo has retained his Ballon d’Or title after a scintillating year with Real Madrid, in which he clinched the UEFA Champions League for the second time in his career.

But beyond that, the Portuguese forward also broke all sorts of records with his incredible tally of goals; scoring 52 goals in 43 matches, and thus validating the ‘goal-machine’ recognition that he has received over the year.

He also played a crucial part in Real Madrid’s Champions League triumph, inspiring them all throughout the competition, before even scoring in the final match against Atletico Madrid to seal a terrific victory.

Meanwhile, James Rodriguez was given the FIFA Puskas Award for his sensational strike during Colombia’s World Cup match against Uruguay last. Surprisingly though, it came at the expense of Robin van Persie’s sensational goal for Netherlands, which was touted as massive favourite to claim the award.

Joachim Loew was voted as the World Coach of the Year for guiding Germany to their first World Cup title in over 24 years. At the same time, Ralf Kellerman of Vfl Wolfsburg was awarded the World Coach of the Year for Women’s Football after his exploits with the German side.
