With the new season starting in less than a month, Terengganu FA are certainly one of the few sides heading into a crucial period of preparation on a very positive note.
After all, they secured a comfortable 3-1 win over LionsXII in a friendly match last week, where new signing Paulo Rangel scored a hat-rick to provide a glimpse of what he is capable of producing for the Turtles.
But more importantly, he also showcased impeccable understanding with fellow striker Hassan Chaito; something that head coach Abdul Rahman Ibrahim is ecstatic about.
“I wanted to see if Rangel could play alongside Hassan in that match against LionsXII and it’s evident that the move worked,” he told Harian Metro.
“I think they can play together effectively. Hassan is just back from a hamstring injury, so he needs to work on his stamina. Otherwise, this should work.
Abdul Rahman also went on to add that he was equally delighted with the performance of Ismail Faruqi and Ashaari Shamsuddin, while claiming that Gustavo Lopez’ role within the team will be extremely crucial for the new season.
Terengganu finished 4th last season and will be looking to improve their standings when the new Super League campaign kicks off later this month.
