The new season of Malaysia Super League will be underway in less than a month but it appears that Sarawak FA are still struggling to find their rhythm on the pitch.
While they have secured wins in several friendly matches, including a recent 1-0 win over KL SPA FC, their performance on the pitch hasn’t been entirely impressive. And it’s not surprising either.
The Crocs went through a squad revamp during the off-season with several key players in the form of Chanturu, Junior Eldstal, and Gabor Gyepes all departing the side. They did acquire the services of credible replacements though Robert Alberts thinks that it’s just a usual case of them not adapting into the squad yet.
“We had to undergo a lot of changes due to player transfers. It’s certainly different compared to the squad we’ve had in past years,” he told Harian Metro.
“Thus, I have to prepare my squad and get them to bond as soon as I can, considering that the new season begins in less then a month, particularly the new signings and the foreign players.
“That being said, the friendly games will certainly help us in identifying the issues we need to collectively address as a team.
Sarawak will kick start their Super League campaign against Felda United on the 7th of February.
