Franck Montagny tests positive for cocaine consumption

Franck Montagny’s future in the motorsport industry could be at stake after a drug test that was conducted on him turned out to be positive for a cocaine derivative.

The former Formula One driver, who recently competed in the brand new FIA Formula E championship, has been suspended from the competition indefinitely as they await final confirmation on the situation.

The 36 year-old initially pulled out from the recent race in Uruguay; citing health issues as a major reason behind his decision.

However, the former Super Aguri driver recently revealed that there was more to the story as he tested positive at the previous Formula E round in Malaysia.

“Auto sport is perhaps over for me,” said Montagny. “I made a mistake and I am guilty. At the end of the race, I see the guy who tests signalling me.

“There, in my head, I understood immediately. I knew it was dead. I was ashamed.”

Montagny is not awaiting final confirmation before finding the consequences of his actions; which will likely be revealed over the next few weeks.

Speculaton has it that Marco Andretti will be replacing him at the Beunos Aires ePrix next week.
