Perak FA have officially acquired the services of Uzbek forward Vokhid Shodiev, to boost their offensive line-up for the 2016 Malaysia Super League.
The experienced forward has been in Ipoh for the last four days and has visibly impressed the Perak FA coaching staff by adapting to newly-appointed head coach Shamsul Saad’s favoured style of play rather quickly.
“He arrived in Ipoh on the 27th of December and proceeded to go through a routine medical and fitness – passing them as well,” Perak FA President Datuk Seri Abdul Puhat Mat Nayan told the club’s official Facebook page.
“He then participated in the club’s regular training sessions and showcased his ability to fit into the team’s tactical set-up.
“Hence, the management believes that this signing will be a major boost towards Perak’s chances of doing well in the Super League, next year,” he added.
According to a source, the Seladangs have been monitoring him for a considerable period of time now, and his arrival certainly comes across as a massive coup, considering that Shodiev was a key part of the Bunyodkor squad that was competing in the Asian Champions League last year.
More to come…
