Kelantan FA President Tan Sri Annuar Musa has vowed to financially reward newly-appointed head coach K. Devan, if the Red Warriors manage to secure one trophy in 2016.
His appointment has been met with strong criticism from across the board, with many suggesting that his recent track record doesn’t warrant him the Kelantan job.
But Annuar Musa begs to differ, and believes that Kelantan have the right ingredient to succeed under the tutelage of Devan next season.
“We’ve told Devan that our goal is to be in the top four spots of the MSL and at least win one trophy next season,” he was quoted as saying by Sinar Harian.
“This means Devan has to led the team into the final of either the FA Cup or the Malaysia Cup. We are prepared to reward him if he guides us to one triumph, at the very least.
“There’s no reason for us to not do well next year. If we could beat JDT in a match this year, there’s no reason as to why we can’t beat them next year,” he added.
This news certainly comes as a surprise, considering that Annuar Musa also revealed that the club is visibly short of financial options to compete in the MSL next year. According to him, their participation is at threat, considering they only have RM5 million to prepare a squad for 2016.
