Frost may not be the right man for Malaysian badminton – Rexy

Rexy Mainaky has expressed his doubt on Morten Frost’s ability to implement fruitful changes as the technical director of the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM).

According to the Indonesian, nothing much has changed in the singles and doubles section, since Frost assumed his role last March.

“I haven’t seen any big changes in the pattern and game play of the Malaysian players. Frost’s plans are not at all visible. From what I see, this might be caused by singles players playing for doubles and vice versa,” said Mainaky as quoted from Harian Metro.

The major gulf in class between senior and junior players is also a worrying factor, especially considering the inconsistency portrayed by possible successors of Lee Chong Wei – Chong Wei Feng and Liew Daren.

“I was shocked when I saw men’s singles player Tan Kian Meng, whom possessed a great physical and quality for the section, is now switched to playing under doubles. Frost has been with BAM for only a year, he needs more time. We don’t know how much time he needs but I know that the Malaysian citizens have high hopes for the nation to triumph in this sport.”
