Perak FA keeping tabs on Bunyodkor’s Vokhid Shodiev

Perak FA are rumoured to be monitoring the prospect of potentially signing Uzbekistan attacker Vokhid Shodiev to bolster their squad for next year’s Malaysia Super League campaign.

Recently-appointed Perak head coach Shamsul Saad revealed that a player from Bunyodkor FC has arrived in Ipoh for a trial stint, but revelation was made on his identity.

But according to a source, Vokhid is the player that’s currently in Ipoh and he’ll be looking to impress the Perak FA coaching staff over the next one week or so.

The 29 year-old is widely regarded as an attacking midfielder, though he is equally capable of playing in a more offensive role upfront.

In 2013, he was one of the highest scoring players in the Uzbek league, as he smashed 12 goals while donning the FK Buxoro jersey. He received a national call-up in the same year, and scoring during his debut match against Vietnam, in the 2015 Asian Cup qualifiers.

More to come…
