Mehmet Durakovic has confirmed that he will be clarifying his situation with Selangor in a press conference that’s scheduled to take place on the 10th of January.
Speculation surrounding his future intensified over the last few days, with several sources suggesting that he received a hefty compensation by virtue of agreeing to a mutual termination of his contract.
That inadvertently means that Zainal Abidin is one step closer towards becoming Selangor’s new head coach. Durakovic though, remains coy about the issue and has promised to clarify the conundrum within the next two weeks.
“For the time being, I can’t comment on the issue as I’m on a holiday with my family. But perhaps you could wait for the press conference that I’ll be holding on the 10th of January,” he told Utusan Malaysia.
“Right now, I’m on holiday in Malaysia and not in Australia,” he added.
Rumours suggest that Durakovic has been awarded a total of RM1.1 million in compensation as well as bonuses for his efforts with the Red Giants over the last two years.
