Selangor captain Shahrom Kalam is not concerned about the potential managerial shift that could take place within the squad for next year’s Malaysia Super League campaign.
The Red Giants have yet to confirm their head coach for next year, with Mehmet Durakovic and Zainal Abidin Hassan reportedly competing for the job.
Rumours have indicated that the players are pushing for Mehmet’s contract to be extended, though Shahrom has clarified the situation by claiming that it doesn’t really matter if either one gets the job.
“As players, it doesn’t really matter who gets the job. We are prepared for any possibility,” he told Sinar Harian.
“The only thing we can do if these changes take place is to work hard and get adjusted into the new system,” he added.
Selangor have been in the limelight in recent weeks, particularly regarding their squad for 2016. They’ve confirmed a large chunk of their squad for next year, with Hafiz Kamal, Khairul Azhan, Gopinathan and Razman Roslan joining from Pahang.
Rob Cornthwaite’s contract has also been extended – which is effectively a U-turn on their initial decision of letting him go.
