Johor Darul Ta’azim have confirmed the signature of Malaysian international winger, Azamuddin Akil from Pahang.
The 30 year-old winger opted not to renew his contract with Pahang, allowing JDT to swoop in and offer him a lucrative deal. Azamuddin, or more fondly known as Alex, agreed with the terms of the deal, is now set to feature for the Southern Tigers in 2016.
His arrival is likely to add depth into the offensive department of Mario Gomez’s squad. It could also raise questions about the future of several players, including Amirulhadi Zainal.
Tunku Ismail, who is the Royal Patron of the club, announced the news during a discussion with fans and media personnel, yesterday.
He went on to confirm that Jorge Pereyra Diaz will be returning to the club in January, while Luciano Figueroa has officially retired from professional football and will be heading back to Argentina in due course.
