Singaporean striker Khairul Amri’s proposed move to Perak was effectively ended over the weekend with the Seladangs opting against making the official move.
The experienced striker has been on Perak’s radar since they exited the Malaysia Cup two months ago and their interest inevitably solidified, after it was confirmed that LionsXII would not be competing in the Malaysia Super League next year.
According to sources, the initial discussions were relatively positive though Perak FA were generally worried about his injury record. Amri is currently recovering from an injury as well, which fueled skepticism within the Perak camp.
Eventually, the Malaysian side opted to close the case by ending negotiations, and they are already looking at alternative targets on their shortlist.
Meanwhile, Voxsports has confirmed that Khairul Amri, who scored 10 goals in 25 appearances for LionsXII in 2015, could be set to feature for Courts Young Lions in the S.League next year.
