Anuar Manan of the Terengganu Cycling Team (TSG), had contributed another sterling victory for the team after successfully claiming the fifth stage of the 2015 Jelajah Malaysia yesterday.
The team, which conquered the third stage, proved themselves worthy of a threat after setting the fast time record within a stunning 59m 37s. The 47km route took a start in Pusat Kecemerlangan Proton, Shah Alam, before ending in Dataran Merdeka.
The 29 year-old scored his victory ahead of Andrea Palini of Skydive Dubai Pro Cycling Team (SKD) and KSPO’s Seo Joon Yong.
“For me, it is a fast face because the routes had been shortened. The athletes all took on a great start. My team had hoped for sprinters like us to do our best for this stage,” said Anuar as quoted from Utusan.
“The chances were open to other sprinters, especially Palini, since he followed up really close at the end of the race. Even though I failed to grab the Blue Jersey, but I am still content with this result.”
But despite their win, Fransisco Mancebo of Skydive Dubai clinched the overall title by clocking in a total of nine hours, 48 minutes and 30 seconds. His teammate Andrea Pallini finished second while Team Hong Kong’s Cheung King Lok finished third.
