Skydive Dubai Pro Cycling Team (SKD) had successfully won stage two of the 2015 Jelajah Malaysia (JM2015) yesterday.
The team managed to set the fastest time record at 19m 43s in the 16.5km Team Time Trial Event, ahead of rivals Pishgamant Giant Team and Team Hong Kong China.
Terengganu Cycling Team (TSG), comprising of Anuar Manan, Goh Choon Huat, Nur Amirul Marzuki, Adiq Husainie Othman, presented themselves as the best Malaysian team after securing sixth place with a record of 20m 34s.
Spaniard Francisco Mancebo of SKD remains as the current overall and sprint competition leader. Mancebo also held a strong grip on his yellow jersey as well as the blue jersey as he once again clocked the fastest time of 3:51:26s and 18 points.
“The team did a great job in the team time trial events. We did it as what we have planned. The last 6km was very hard. I’m confident that we (the team) could still keep the jersey (yellow jersey) until the end,” he said as quoted from Bernama.
Meanwhile, Nur Amirul Marzuki of TSG retains his Red Jersey and also leads the current climbing zone leader.
“My strategy is to make an early breakaway. I want to add points. I will try to do it although tomorrow the route taken will favour sprinters.”
“I need the assistance of team mates to try to maintain my red jersey,” he added.
