Penang FA confirm list of foreign players for 2016

Penang FA have confirmed their list of four foreign players for the 2016 season of Malaysian Football.

The Panthers have snapped up Australian defender Brent Griffiths, Argentinean midfielder Matias Cordoba, Brazilian striker Tadeu and they’ve opted to retain Brazilian defender Reinaldo Lobo.

Griffiths is tough-tackling defender, who last featured for Central Coast Mariners, has been roped in to increase their defensive strength and he will feature alongside Reinaldo at the heart of their defence.

Tadeu on the other hand, will replace the prolific Lee Gil Hoon, who was released at the end of November, after spending two years with the Northern Malaysian team. Cordoba on the other hand, is known for his creativity as showed glimpses of his ability during a short stint with Perth Glory, a couple of years ago.

These signings represent a clear statement of intent from Penang, who will be looking to leave a major impact in the Super League next year.

Besides that, the Panthers have also acquired the services of Nursalam Zainal Abidin from UiTM FC, to replace Yong Kuong Yong, who departed for Terengganu.
