Malaysian Tenpin Bowling Congress (MTBC) has named six national bowlers for the women’s elite category ahead of the Women’s World Bowling Championships (WWC) that will be held at Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, from December 6 to December 13.
The six national athletes who will represent the country are Sin Li Jane, Esther Cheah, Natasha Roslan, Sharon Koh, Syaidatul Afifah and Victoria Chin.
National coach Holloway Cheah said he expects the team to perform well in the group stage, considering they have a fine balance between youth and experience.
“We decided to inject the team with the new talents like Natasha, Syaidatul and Victoria who have competed in various international tournaments before,” he told Harian Metro.
“We won’t put any specific target because we will be facing with a lot of strong teams such as United States, South Korea, Sweden, Colombia and Singapore.
“Our main focus in this tournament is to do well during the group stage, and I hope they can deliver what we expect of them,” he added.
In the last edition of this competition back in 2013, Malaysia clinched a bronze medal in the team cateory.
