Hong Kong Open: Lee Chong Wei cruises into final

Lee Chong Wei has moved into the final of the Hong Kong Open after beating Angus Ng Ka Long in the semis earlier today.

The former world number continued his excellent form by beating Chen Long yesterday though it was evident that his tie against Angus wasn’t going to be easy. The Hong Kong shuttler took Lin Dan out, en route to reaching the semis of his home tournament.

Predictably, the first set of their duel ended up being a close battle though Chong Wei eventually won it 21-19.

He then carried that momentum into the second set, clinching it 21-14 to effectively book his slot in the final of the tournament.

He will be up against China’s Tian Houwei in the final and he will definitely be looking to clinch his second consecutive title, having won the China Open last week.
