Kelantan FA are poised to secure the signature of Harimau Muda A’s Syahrul Azwari, in a bid to beef up their squad for next year.
The 22 year-old, who was born in Tanah Merah, will be released from Harimau Muda at the end of this month, which will pave the way for him to return to his boyhood team.
Several teams were reportedly keeping tabs on him, but according to a source, Syahrul’s desire to return to Kota Bharu, despite their ongoing financial woes, will eventually seal his homecoming.
Syahrul first broke into the national scene in 2011, where he played a crucial role in helping the Malaysian U-23 side clinch gold medal at the SEA Games, beating Indonesia in the final.
Since then though, he has struggled with inconsistency, which is a culmination of the injury issues he has faced over the years as well. That being said, Syahrul’s ability is widely recognized within the country, and his arrival should provide a much-needed impetus for the Red Warriors.
