Kelantan striker Gilmar Jose Da Filho believes that his future with Kelantan is completely uncertain at this point, though he is keen on staying in Kota Bharu for the time being.
The 26 year-old was signed in April and went on to become Kelantan’s top scorer this season. But he has also been affected by Kelantan’s financial issues, which he admits, is a major cause for concern. But even then, he’s not sure as to whether he’ll receive a new contract for 2016.
“I still love Kelantan. My contract wil end this month, and right now, I’m not sure if they need me for next year,” he told Sinar Harian.
“I have a family in Brazil and they rely on my source of income since I’m a footballer. I really want to continue playing for Kelantan but I know it’ll be difficult because the team has an ongoing financial problem,” he added.
Gilmar has scored 14 goals for the Red Warriors thus far and speculation suggests that a myriad of other Malaysian teams are monitoring the prospect of signing him, should Kelantan decide against renewing his contract.
