Lee Chong Wei has secured the China Open title by claiming a resounding straight sets victory over current world number one player, Chen Long.
The Malaysian star was already in a buoyant mood prior to the final, thanks to his comprehensive win over Lin Dan yesterday.
But he completely turned on the style against Chen Long, claiming the first set comfortably by winning it 21-15. With the home crowd cheering, Chen Long was expected to muster a comeback in the second round.
Instead, Chong Wei maintained his composure and seized the second set by a bigger margin, winning 21-11.
The victory means that Chong Wei has successfully avenged his World Championship final defeat against Chen Long.
