Ex-Kelantan player Emmanuel Kenmogne rejoins Persija Jakarta

Former Kelantan player, Emmanuel Kenmogne has rejoined Persija Jakarta ahead of the General Sudirman Cup 2015 which begins on November 14.

The 35-year-old featured in his first training session with the Jakarta-based club yesterday alongside another new signing, Raphael Maitimo.

Head coach Bambang Nurdiansyah said Kenmogne will strengthen their attack ahead of the tournament.

“Kenmogne and Maitimo have just arrived. They are not going to train with the rest for now, because they need to regain their match fitness. It’s been a while since they played games and they had to go through long hours of travel.

“Once their fitness is top notch, they will start training with the rest,” he told Sportsatu.

Kenmogne previously played under Bambang back in 2013, scoring 14 goals in 16 games throughout the season.

He later moved to Persebaya Surabaya in 2014, where he emerged as the top scorer of the Indonesian Super League with 25 goals.

Following his successful stint with Persebaya, he moved to Malaysia to play under George Boateng in Kelantan, though he eventually fell out favour, having only netted five goals.
