National diving squad ended their FINA Australian GP campaign in an emphatic fashion, collecting a gold and two more bronzes on the final day at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre.
Muhd Syafiz Puteh-Wendy Ng Yan Yee pulled the shock of the day to win the mixed 3m springboard synchro, overtaking favourites Matthew Mitcham-Esther Qin with their last two dives.
As a result, the Malaysians recorded a total of 297 points, while their Australian counterparts could only manage 287.70 for the silver.
Malaysia also bagged two bronzes through Wendy-Nur Dhabitah Sabri in the 3m springboard synchro final and Chew YiWei in the 10m platform individual final.
All in all, the nation brought back one gold, two silvers and four bronzes.
