Ben Leong delighted with CIMB Classic performance

Some impressive performances in the final round certainly helped Ben Leong to come off as nation’s best golfer in his debut during the CIMB Classic Championship, which ended yesterday.

Leong completed a last round six-under 66 for a 285 total, ending up at 67th spot out of 78 golfers, surpassing his country mate Danny Chia to finish as the best placed Malaysian.

For his efforts, Leong brought home prize money worth US$14, 630.

“I have nothing to complain about since it it only my first time in the PGA Tour Series, and I was only 27 shots behind the eventual champion,” he told Berita Harian.

The CIMB Classic was won by 22 year-old American Justin Thomas, who held off a stern fight from Adam Scott of Australia, to win his first career US PGA Tour title.
