Lee Chong Wei seals Top 10 return on BWF World Rankings

Lee Chong Wei has officially entered the Top 10 bracket of the BWF World Rankings after recently clinching his fourth French Open title.

The former world number one has been out of the bracket since March, when he was ranked 8th, before the doping scandal eventually brought him down to 180 at one point.

But Chong Wei has been scaling up since making a return earlier this year, and is now delighted to have returned into the Top 10 bracket.

“To be in the top 10 is great news for me, but let’s not get too carried away. While I’m happy to have made the Top 10, I believe that I can go higher on the rankings, maybe top 8.

“But to reach the top 8, I need to do well at the upcoming China and Hong Kong Open,” he told Utusan Malaysia.

The China Open could potentially pair Chong Wei with Lin Dan in the semis, while the Malaysian is also expected to face Chen Long in the quarters of the Hong Kong Open.
