Defending champions Pahang emerged as the third team to qualify for the quarter finals of 2015 Malaysia Cup after their emphatic 3-0 win over Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) yesterday.
Zainal Abidin Hassan’s side have not performed up to expectations prior to the match, but came back in style in their Group D fifth round match at Stadium Shah Alam.
Pahang’s star forward Dickson Nwakame opened the scoring in the 27th minute, followed by a Matias Conti goal two minutes later. PDRM never looked like they were in contention as Conti scored his second goal in the 81st minute to seal the win for his side.
The victory means Pahang have nine points and now currently lead the standings in Group D, with the other two teams – PKNS and Penang – only settling for a 1-1 draw in their match.
