He is back!
Lee Chong Wei has finally rediscovered his form that once made him the world number one badminton player, by claiming the French Open after beating sixth seed Chou Tien Chen of Taiwan in Paris yesterday.
It was a first Super Series title for the Malaysian this year, who took just 47 minutes to overcome his opponent 21-13, 21-18.
The victory also serves as a redemption for Chong Wei, who has been criticized a lot lately after failures in the Japan, Korea and Denmark Open.
Since coming back from his doping ban last May, Chong Wei has only won two titles – US Open and Canada Open – before emerging runner up in the World Championships.
The 33 year-old has won the French Open for a third time now, after previous success in 2007 and 2011.
