Cai Lin aiming to secure 800m freestyle slot for Rio 2016

After booking her Rio Olympics spot in the 400 meter freestyle event, national swimmer Khoo Cai Lin now aims the qualification spot of the 800 meter freestyle.

According to 27 year old, she is confident of qualifying through merit points in the category even though the prestigious competition is not far away.

“I still have few tournaments to book my Rio spot in the 800m event, and at the same time trying to better my 400m time.”

“I realize it’s not easy to obtain a second spot (800m) in the Olympics, but I will give it my best,” said Cai Lin, as quoted by Arena Metro.

It is to be noted that swimmer Cai Lin was the most successful athlete in the 2014 ASEAN University Games in Indonesia, clinching two golds, two silvers and a bronze medal in the process.
