Head coach of Persib Bandung, Djadjang ‘Djanur’ Nurdjaman believes that the final match of President Cup between his side and Sriwijaya FC will certainly be a superb match to be looked out for.
Persib Bandung fought hard to overcame a one goal deficit in the first match against Mithra Kukar, eventually beating them 3-2 on aggregate in a two-legged semi-final.
On the other hand, Sriwijaya FC beat Arema FC 2-1 in the second leg, after the first game ended in an 1-1 draw, also advancing on a 3-2 aggregate victory.
“At last, we will play against Sriwijaya,” said Djanur, as quoted by Tempo.co.
“Sriwijaya have shown that they are a solid team, and both sides have an equal chance to win as they have squads of similar quality.”
Although Persib are labelled as favorites as they progress to their fifth final of the competition, Djanur refuses to give in to any excuses of having an advantage over their opponents.
“That only means that we have to work hard and be motivated to win this match. We have a good mentality, I expect the boys to play good.”
The final between Persib Bandung and Sriwijaya FC is to take place on October 18.
