Remember Freddy Adu?
He was once touted as the next big thing in football and was even hailed – by some sects of fans – as the new American Pele.
Fair enough, he was a talented kid and looked like was destined for greatness during his younger days with DC United. But as Freddy progressed, his career went on a downward spiral and he has been travelling across the globe, playing for various clubs in a myriad of countries.
More recently though, the ex-Benfica forward returned to the USA, where he is now featuring for Tampa Bay Rowdies. Over the weekend, he showed a glimpse of why he was once so highly rated, with a sensational assist for Brian Shriver’s 88th minute assist!
