Veteran shuttlers Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong sent a stern warning to all the doubters after clinching the Dutch Open Grand Prix yesterday.
The world number 31 pair were absolutely ruthless against India’s Manu Attri and B. Sumeeth Reddy, winning 21-15, 21-10 in just 25 minutes.
It was the Malaysian pair’s third international title of the season, and also the biggest since announcing their comeback in May.
Kien Keat quit the national side last year to coach a club in Thailand, while Boon Heong left the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM).
The pair have constantly been bombarded of their ability to compete against higher level opponents, but have been impressive in recent times, reaching the final of Thailand Open Grand Prix just last week.
Sponsored by Seri Mutiara, Koo-Tan now are aiming to qualify for their third straight Olympics in Rio de Janeiro next year.
