National bodybuilder Mohd Syarul Azman Mahen Abdullah made sure Malaysia brought home at least one “Mr Asia” title after winning the athletic physique category (165cm) at the Asian Body Building Championship in Uzbekistan.
The 42 year-old athlete was the only shining light among his teammates, who only managed one silver and two bronze medals.
“This is my highest achievement yet after ending in second and third place since I started in 2009.”
“I’m truly delighted with the win, till I had tears of joy. My wait is finally over,” he told Harian Metro.
The other national athletes include Tan Wei Yan, who won the silver in under-70 kg junior event, and bronze medals won by Rozaimi Abd Rani (above-60 kg) and Buda Anchah (above-70kg).
It is worth mentioning that nation’s top body builder Sazali Samad was unable to take part in this competition due to injury.
