MTV extreme athlete Erik Lars Roner suffered a tragic death after he flew into a tree while skydiving during a charity golf event yesterday.
Roner, who was part of an MTV show called Nitro Circus, was doing a performance with the rest of his team when he hit a tree and became entangled.
Authorities were not able to remove him from the tree and Roner was pronounced dead at the scene. All the other skydivers landed safely, as per reports.
The accident occurred at an annual gold fundraiser for the Squaw Valley Institute in Olympic Valley.
39 year-old Roner has been known for his extreme sports and stunts, including once where the tied himself to 90 helium balloons and flew through the air sitting on a lawn chair – referencing the movie Up.
He left behind his wife and two kids.
