Swiss lawmakers open criminal proceedings against FIFA’s Sepp Blatter

Merely hours after FIFA cancelled a press conference involving Sepp Blatter, reports now suggests that he is being questioned by Swiss law authorities over corruption allegations.

Bloomberg reports that Swiss authorities have officially opened criminal proceedings against Blatter, who is under-fire for criminal mismanagement and misappropriation.

But according to a statement released by the Swiss attorney general, another prominent individual in the form of UEFA President Michel Platini, is also involved in the scandal, having reportedly received a payment of $2 million from Blatter, which is supposedly a ‘disloyal payment’.

Prosecutors have also confirmed that they were given permission to search through the FIFA Headquarters today.
