Malaysian men’s doubles pair Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong have progressed to the quarter finals of Korea Open after winning their second round tie.
The Malaysian pair defeated fifth seed Cai Biao-Hong Wei of China in straight sets, 21-14 21-12 to continue spearheading nation’s name in the competition.
They had earlier beaten England pair Marcus Ellis and Chris Langridge 21-16, 21-10 with ease in the first round.
Following Lee Chong Wei’s shock exit in the qualifying rounds, Malaysia has only two representatives in the series, with doubles pair Goh V Shem and Tan Wee Kiong being the other participants.
