Johor DT fans are pleading to Football Association of Malaysia in hopes of getting their club’s Malaysia Cup tie against Sarawak postponed.
This comes after the Southern Tigers booked an AFC Cup semi-final tie against Kuwait’s Al Qadsia. JDT are scheduled to face Sarawak in Kuching on the 26th of September, which is merely three days before they are supposed to compete in Kuwait.
“FAM needs to afford JDT some leniency, and postpone the fixture against Sarawak to another date, in order to allow the team adequate amount of time to prepare for the AFC Cup game,” JDT Supporters Club’s President, Azman A. Jalil told Harian Metro.
“As fans, we hope that FAM take the request into consideration as JDT isn’t only pushing for Johor. It’s carrying the hopes of Malaysia on its’ shoulders,” he added.
JDT are in the semi-finals after triumphing over Hong Kong’s South China 4-2 on aggregate.
