National squash contingent took Samoa by storm after completing a clean sweep at the 5th edition of the Commonwealth Youth Games.

Andrea Lee-Zoe Foo delivered the nation’s eighth gold medal in the girls’ doubles after crushing New Zealand’s Eleanor Epke-Abbie Palmer 11-10, 11-10.

In the boys’ doubles final, Mohd Farez Izwan Mohd Mukhtar-Marcus Sim added to the list of gold medals after defeating their Australian opponents 11-7, 8-11, 11-10.

There was more joy for Andrea when she picked up her second gold of the day, partnering Ng Eain Yow in the mixed doubles to overcome India’s Velavan Senthilkumar-Harshit Kaur Jawanda 11-7, 11-3.

Eain Yow and S. Sivasangari had earlier won the boys’ and girls’ singles gold medal, making it an historic total of five gold medals in the squash event.
