Velappan, 80, also suggested FAM to create a special committee to study the best strategies with the aim of claiming back national team’s pride and fame, which was very much evident in the 60’s and 70’s era.

According to him, the committee should consist of FAM representatives, German and Japan experts, besides the entire trustee including Ministry of Education, state associations, clubs, National Sports Council and sponsors of football development program in the country.

“Technical director of AFC, Andy Roxburgh should also be included in the committee because he has almost 30 years of experience, especially regarding the youth development program in his country, Scotland,” he said, as quoted by Arena Metro.
