Tengku Abdullah’s resignation isn’t enough – FAP President

Football Association of Penang’s (FAP) President Datuk Seri Nazir Ariff Munshir claims that Tengku Abdullah’s resignation from FAM will not be enough to revive Malaysian football.

This comes after Tengku Abdullah offered to let go of his FAM presidency yesterday, on the back of Malaysia’s 10-0 defeat to UAE last week. But Datuk Seri Nazir claims that other individuals within FAM need to be held accountable as well.

“Without proper advice and an effective strategy, even a new president won’t be able to help change things within the national set-up,” he told Utusan Malaysia.

That’s why for me, the other committee members in FAM need to be responsible for the result as well, as their inability to produce strategies has certainly let down the president,” he added.

Though Tengku Abdullah did announce his intentions to resign, he went on to add that the process would be gradual, though no clarifications were made on the technicalities of the process.
