National Young Tigers squad showcased fantastic ability to record a comfortable 4-0 win over Singapore in the second round action of Group B at the Asian Football Federation (AFF) Under-19 Youth Championships, Vientiane, Laos, yesterday night.
The victory was much needed for Hassan Sazali’s team after criticisms over their slim 2-1 win over Timor Leste, last Sunday.
This time, Malaysia took control early in the game with Muhammad Jafri Muhammad Firdaus Chew claiming two goals in a span of six minutes to put his side 2-0 ahead.
It got worse after the break for Singapore, with Muhammad Nazirul Afif Ibrahim scoring in the 64th minute and Muhammad Danial Ashraf Abdullah adding the finishing touches two minutes before the final whistle to give Malaysia their biggest win so far in the tournament.
The Under-19 national squad will face Vietnam this Thursday in the third round, before ending group stages against Myanmar two days later.
