FAM to continue investigating Nazmi over ‘spitting’ allegations

Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) will continue their detailed investigation regarding Selangor player Mohd Nazmi Faiz Mansor, who was red-carded after spitting an opponent.

The midfielder was sent off by referee Suhaizi Shukri after an incident with Kelantan’s Erwin Carillo in the later stages of their Super League match, last Wednesday.

FAM secretary Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin said, the issue will be thoroughly investigated.

“FAM has received reports from officials and match referees. The report states the accusations of Nazmi Faiz spitting on Carrillo.”

“Nevertheless this incident will be analyzed again to be fair for both sides who are involved,” he said, as quoted by Harian Metro.

If it all is true, Nazmi could be facing a six match ban, and will not be the first time for the player.

He served a six match ban prior to this as well, during his time representing the national squad in the Singapore SEA Games, for spitting a Timor Leste player.
