Kenny Goh set for BAM departure?

Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) general manager Kenny Goh is rumoured to be on the brink of leaving the association after seven years, to join the Badminton Asia Confederation (BAC).

Kenny, who joined BAM in 2007, reportedly made his intentions clear to the upper management, before officially submitting his resignation notice.

The 49 year-old however, refused to confirm the speculation. When contacted by the Malaysian Insider, Kenny said: “I have no comments.”

Kenny is now set to be the latest individual to depart BAM, following in the footsteps of national coach Rashid Sidek and mixed doubles expert Tan Kim Her.

BAM deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Norza Zakaria, however, said BAM had not been notified on this issue.

“We know BAC needs an individual like Kenny who has wide experience in badminton administration. But he is quite experienced in BAM matters, so we need him as well.”

Kenny has maintained a good relationship with national players and coaches apart from doing his job for BAM, with the obvious example coming from national badminton hero Lee Chong Wei, who wanted him to stay with BAM when he was linked with an exit earlier on.
