The Malaysian men and women’s dodgeball team made the country proud after clinching performing brilliantly to seal a stunning finish at the World Championships in las Vegas.
The men’s team achieved a second place finish, which is their best ever position, after hosts United States defeated them 7-6 in the decider. Canada, who lost to the Malaysians in the semi-final, took the third spot after edging Australia in the playoff.
The national contingent had earlier impressed in the group stages, with six wins and one loss, finishing second out of eight teams.
On the other hand, the women’s team also lost to eventual champions US in the semis but came back to beat Canada 7-4 in the playoff to secure third place.
They had previously qualified from group stages after finishing fourth out of five teams, with two wins and three losses.
