World Championships: LCW sets up final showdown with Chen Long

Lee Chong Wei has officially booked his spot in the final of the World Championships after cruising past Jan O Jorgensen in the semis earlier today.

Jorgensen knocked Lin Dan out of the competition yesterday, and was expected to push Chong Wei to his limits, but the Malaysian shuttler showcased his composure from the get go.

The former world number one clinched the first set 21-7, much to the surprise of everyone watching the battle. But Jorgensen rallied back in the second set to provide a tougher challenge for Chong Wei.

They were neck and neck at most points of the set, though Chong Wei eventually held on to secure a 21-19 win and set-up a mouth-watering clash against Chen Long in the final tomorrow.

The Chinese star had booked his spot courtesy of an easy straights set victory over Japan’s Kento Momota earlier today, winning 21-9, 21-15.
