For all the quality present within the FC Barcelona squad, none of them were exhibited in the first leg of their SuperCopa tie against Athletic Bilbao last night as the Los Leones ran rampant with a 4-0 win on the night.
Aritz Aduriz stole the headlines with a sensational hat-rick on the day, ripping Barcelona apart with his physical presence upfront. But the highlight of the match had to be a sheer moment of brilliance from his teammate, Mikel San Jose.
Merely 12 minutes into the game, San Jose unleashed a momentous shot from just above the halfway line, leaving Barcelona’s goalkeeper helpless as it hit the back of the net to hand the home side a 1-0 lead.
