Syed Agil, Jawairiah Nordin to grace KL Open Championship

The participation of national tennis player, Syed Mohd. Agil Syed Naquib in the Kuala Lumpur Open Championship is expected to give new hopefuls a run for their talent as the tournament unfolds this 27th August.

Besides Syed, the defending champion of women’s category, Jawairiah Noordin is also in the top eight group, as confirmed by Ahmad Abd Jamil, Deputy President of the Kuala Lumpur Lawn Tennis Association (KLLTA).

“I hope this will be a great platform for the best eight national tennis players to collect points and improve their rankings, as well as provide young talents the chance to be in the same court as their senior players.”

“Syed Mohd. Agil may be one of the country’s best players, but that doesn’t mean there can’t be anyone else to give a fight to him,” the KLLTA Deputy President added, as stated in Utusan.

The championship has been given the green light from the Lawn Tennis Association of Malaysia (LTAM) and will offer prize money worth Rm 71, 000.

It will take place in the National Tennis Court (NTC) and Kuala Lumpur City Hall’s Tennis Complex (DBKL), Taman Tasik Titiwangsa.
