LionsXII tie will be tricky – JDT’s Mario Gomez

Johor DT head coach Mario Gomez has urged his players to remain cautious in their approach against LionsXII when they face each other at the Larkin Stadium tonight.

The home side have been a solid run of form, and even moved to top of the table last weekend, thanks to LionsXII win over Pahang. But that victory is the precise reason as to why Gomez is preparing for this match meticulously.

“LionsXII’s result against Pahang was fantastic and it will certainly motivate their players to play well against us,” he told Harian Metro.

Though their causeway rivals would be buoyed by their last win, Gomez went on to suggest that it will not derail the motivation of his players in no way, and that JDT will go into the match as favourites, considering their record on home turf.

“I think the players will do their best. Every one of them have individual talents to help empower the club and ensure that we remain on top of the table, till the league ends.

“If we can maintain our excellent form, then I have no doubts over our ability to get a positive result on Wednesday night,” he added.
