Terengganu’s Sepak Takraw Association (PSTNT) will be taking part in their first Thailand Super League Championship in Bangkok, which already begun on the 29th of July and will continue till 5th December this year.
PSTNT President, Mohd Shapian Ali said the union has listed twelve under-21 players to represent Terengganu in the championship.
“The squad has already flown to Bangkok last week, and they will be cooperating with Nakhon Patom club for the league,” he told Berita Harian, yesterday.
According to him, Terengganu’s participation is to bring exposure for young players, besides trying to increase the quality of the sport, which lacks compared to Thailand.
Meanwhile, Mohd Shapian added that the combined team will be under the guidance of former Malaysia coach, Prawet Intra and will be supported by Terengganu born coach Vitaya Boonthal.
On the other hand, Futra Abd Ghani, former national sepak takraw player, has been appointed as the scout of the team.
