“Just enjoy the amazing response in Istora Senayan stadium.”
That’s the advice from Morten Frost, technical director of Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM), to the national shuttlers who will be in action at the prestigious venue starting next Monday for the World Championships.
“I do feel every player have that dream to play at Istora Senayan.”
“I myself have not forgotten the time I was there, as a player. Been in action few times at the stadium and let me tell you, the reception from the audience was overwhelming.”
“The most exciting thing that can happen is when any player defeats the hosts. That’s when things start to heat up,” Frost told Harian Metro.
Frost was seen with the national badminton team yesterday, before leaving to Jakarta, Indonesia. He did add that the squad must utilize this golden opportunity of appearing in the World Championship.
“Our players have to be able to cope with the pressure, and enjoy the match against their opponents. Of course in the end I would love to see them on their best performances, even springing a surprise here and there.”
